[tech] UniSFA Remote access to UCC for streaming

Hi all,
I'd like to ask on behalf of UniSFA if it would be possible to set up
remote access to either a Windows desktop or Windows VM, to attempt
using it as a streaming server for games (ie. using something like
Twitch) and potentially other content where streaming does not violate
copyright laws.
Given the current situation with the closure of Cameron Hall it is no
longer possible for UniSFA to run such events in person in the clubroom
and we would like to explore online alternatives. Due to general
limitations on internet bandwidth and access to suitable hardware for
streaming from home, it would be preferable to try hosting from UCC
where this is not likely to be a problem.
Basic requirements would be: Windows 10 system, RDP or VNC access
(preferably without needing to connect through a VPN, for
latency/accessibility purposes), 8GB RAM, 4 CPU cores and ideally a
dedicated GPU.
If anyone has thoughts about the technical feasibility of this or ideas
of it could be done better, please let me know :)
It's a bit of an experiment but hopefully we can sort something out.
Cheers,
Felix
