*Meeting opened 19:09*

## Next meeting
     - Next meeting: Sunday 25nd(sic) August 2019, 2pm

## New wheel members, additions, nominations
- [TEC] is not being added to wheel - late to meeting! (jokes)
- discussion with [TEC] about his future roles in the club
- [TEC] is still thinking about what he wants to do
- [TEC] windows is the worst
- [BOB] would putting you on sprocket and/or winadmin help you with what
you want to do in the club?
- [TEC] no, does not currently appeal to me
- [BOB] ok

- [SJH] are there any more clubroom-y people who could be considered for
wheel membership
- [TPG] the wheel purge thing isn't helping with the wheel
gentrification issue
- [SJH] we obviously need to wait more than a week before we add someone
to wheel
     - mentions certain crazy individuals in the past

## Things from previous meeting
- Consolidation of git repos
     - push murasoi:/etc/.git to gitlab - not done
     - push mooneye:/etc/.git to gitlab - not done
     - Call for volunteers to take care of firewall and DNS in git stuff
- not done

- [BOB] - would the above have helped us when murasoi had the dual disk
failure?
- [MSH] - yes because gitlab is backed up to mollitz

New ACTION items: put etckeeper on everything, plus above action items -
[TPG] volunteers to do murasoi

- Fixing of AD setups
     - previous action item: [FVP] to update the ActiveDirectory wiki
page - not done
     - sign us up to Techsoup/connectingup.org so we can get a new
Windows server licence - done by [FVP]

New action items:
     - ACTION: [FVP] to update the ActiveDirectory wiki page
     - ACTION: [FVP] Purchase a windows server licence - unsure is this
can be done individually on connectingup.org
       - Windows Server Standard is $12?
       - to build a Windows server on spare hardware

- [NTU] Demo: restore files from offsite?
     - Done in the last day! To note:
       - mollitz stores files as the backup user; ownership is kept in a
separate file
       - use "rdiff-backup -r now" for restores

## General discussion
- [NTU] we should make the things we do published/more public
     - publish things in git (eg firewall)
- [MSH] - could let everyone log into the router but not any outgoing
connections from it
     - to permit people to look at the firewall
- [BOB] - !!!!!??????
- [MSH] - but that would make it depend on AD

- [TEC] - this meeting is nice to put a face to names of people from discord

- [MSH] - can you make etckeeper keep a single change log of everything
on every server?

- Email pings coming soon

- Possible projects for new wheel/sprocket/winadmin members?
    - Ensure vendserver cannot be hung by an unresponsive MIFARE reader
(PSU replaced 2019-06)
    - Reliable server startup after reboots and power outages
      - Recurring issue
      - As of 2019-06-21:
     - mussel doesn't start apache, freeradius, imapproxy
     - mooneye doesn't start mailman, postfix
     - samson AD didn't start correctly and required a kick
ACTION: look into having these services automatically start (not
starting when dependencies are unavailable, and stopping when necessary)
    - Lower power murasoi backup - sync firewall configs to an
Edgerouter? with a 4G backup uplink?
     - [BOB]/[MSH] laugh

[MSH]+[SJH] leave 20:08

- [BOB] - the only priority between now and the next wheel meeting is
upgrading mooneye - all its hardware is 14 years old
     - lets use the R710 in the machine room
- [BOB] also what do we want to do with the cisco server?
     - rumors of setting it up as a proxmox host? Note this would give
us an even number of nodes on the cluster, leading to the possibility of
split brain

Meeting closed 20:23 - lack of wheel members present and we want to
actually do stuff
