Hi all,
I logged into Kalashnikov tonight to natively compile some code for arm,
but it seems that it has a corrupt file system. Dmesg shows "error:
ext2_lookup: deleted inode referenced" hundreds of times and I can't get
fsck to fix it. Given kalashnikov is getting a bit long in the tooth
anyway, I thought that now might be a good time to upgrade it.
The first thing I looked at is the new raspi 2, which is also ARMv7 (same
instruction set as kalashnikov) but is quad core and clocked higher. The
ram is the same unfortunately, but at least it has 4 usb ports. If we were
to use this is a desktop machine, it would want a case, so ballpark cost
is $80 for that.
BUT - is there a better machine we could be looking at? I'd be keen on
getting a 64-bit ARM machine or something higher specced than a raspi if
anyone can lay their hands on one.
Failing this, kalashnikov probably wants a new hdd and ubuntu reinstalling
in the near future.
