.. hm, no responses?

* Buy small SATA drive caddy
* Buy largish SATA disks to go into caddy
* Buy suitable case, motherboard and a sensible SATA card, or a board with 5 or so SATA channels
  (intels work fine!)
* Get /services back online off -that- - (Open)Solaris + ZFS or FreeBSD + ZFS run fine
* Re-delegate the FC and Sun equipment into "play with" status.

Total cost for newish not-so-ghettoish services storage:

* $300 - caddy
* $150 - suitable case
* $16 - motherboard
* 4 x $25 - 4x1gb DDR2 ram stick
* 5 x $100 - terabyte sized disks of some variety
* $150 - CPU
* $80 - 500W PSU

Total cost: $1300

Or, if you don't care about IO, do it with an existing machine and use two
disks instead of 5.
