I'm using the orinoco_cs driver however, with the patches to allow raw
mode (no that that should matter).
I can't say what firewire it is... I haven't looked.

Mine seemed to just work, both on ad-hoc (because I haven't read the
email yet) and then on managed (I just changed wireless.opts).
I'm not sure what other information I can provide, but people are free
to have a look at my configs.
