Whoops, ran out of time last night to mail that.
Yes, hydra's now running kernel 2.4.2 (though if it reboots it will go
back to 2.4.0-test10 by default). It has kernel PCMCIA support and
modules (not from the PCMCIA-CS package).
First, it needs the pcmcia-cs userspace tools, and testing of the
PCMCIA bridge.
Then, you can try the kernel wavelan_cs driver module, but you may have
more luck with this ;

Uncompiled in ~nick/dldwd.tgz, compiled in mussel:/space/nick and
hydra:/usr/src, but may need tweaking.
Another approach will be to recompile again _without_ PCMCIA support,
and build external pcmcia-cs support modules.
