There is a concept for the machine room - cool air from the air
conditioner comes in from the northeast, is sucked from the front
of the racks (facing east) to the back (facing west) up and out
the vent (possibly with extractor fans).
As long as there's nothing actively fighting that, it works about as
well as we could expect. (not great, and it's not realistic for us to
run a air-conditioner much bigger than the current one. Perhaps a
cheap pedastal fan could be made into an extractor...)
Standalone racks will probably need decent bottom-to-top suction
with venting at the bottom, like Starfish.
