[tech] Box of stuff, CRO

I foolishly managed to leave a cardboard box full of my tools and stuff
on the benches outside UCC tonight - I realised just as I swung the
bottom door shut and the lock caught. It's got a whole heap of stuff
I'd hate to lose - could people turning up in the morning on friday
please make sure it's safely locked away somewhere, preferably in the
machine room, or where it won't get rummaged through?

BTW, the CRO flags the 'acquisition' self-test on power up as failing,
and says to contact a service agent. It did seem to work, but I only
tested channel 1. Also, all but one of the probes seemed to have broken
cores - probe leads are _extremely_ fragile, far more so than ordinary
coax, because the center conductor is _very_ thin. The broken probes
show very heavy 'ringing' on the test square wave from the CRO test
point, the good probe shows nice square edges. Coiling probe leads up
tight and wrapping a twist-tie around them is a bad way to store
them...

Yes, I know the CRO doesn't actually have any 'Cathode Rays' involved,
but it's still a CRO as far as I'm concerned :-)
