Two things ill state before I ask the question...

(1) Yes I am aware there are forums for this kind of thing, but i like
asking you lot :)

(2) Even tho I will ask you NOT to just say "Change to <XMailClient>" you
still will :P

Anyway...

Does anyone know an easy way to change the from address in Pine
? preferably without having to quit the client... I know under FreeBSD you
can simply alter the $USER variable, but it doesnt seem to work under
Linux...

(as to why... im on a couple of mailing lists, which request you reply to
them with your subscribed address, and i usually subscribe as
(mailinglistname)@vyxn.net as an attempt to track spam... and i currently
cant reply to them under pine.)
