Let me guess. Someone did an "apt-get upgrade" on mussel and
replaced all the XDM config files with blank ones? Including, say,
/etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess?
Debugging it was confusing because scully and/or mussel didn't seem to
respond immediately to changes - it would continue to fail a few times
even after it was fixed.
I made the authentication use MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE rather than XDM... I
think the shared key is irrelevant to that. XDM on mermaid/mussel isn't
configured with any kind of key.
Oh - and the setup password seems to have fallen off scully. I can't
seem to put it back on. This may mean people will fiddle with it and
break it more often.
Nick.
